Soundtraxx DSD-AT100LC sound decoder Posted by Douglas Fir on Monday, August 17, 2009 12:42 PM I have installed several of these decoders in my Atlas RS 1’s and 3’s and from the get go I hear a constant buzzing noise whether the sound is off or on and thought it was normal.
Scope. This section of the manual is designed to provide the advanced user with additional insight into the operation and capabilities of the SoundTraxx Digital Sound Decoder. By necessity, it is somewhat technical in nature and assumes a working knowledge of the NMRA DCC Standards and RPs as well as a familiarity with binary and hexadecimal number systems.

Bachmann sound value sound decoders are great ,but with no manual and Soundtraxx publishing incorrect cv lists showing functions on them that they do not even have should raise eyebrows if not corrected.
Installing a Tsunami Diesel Digital Sound Decoder in a Proto 2000 FB-1. Note: Read all documentation that comes with the locomotive and the decoder. The papers with the decoder are very simple, detailed manuals are available on the Soundtraxx Web Site.
SoundTraxx Adapters JST-21PMEN Adapter. Here’s a neat idea from SoundTraxx® — the JST-21PMEN Adapter. This board gives you the ability to use the new 21-pin digital sound boards in locomotives not originally set up for them. It allows you to adapt TSU2 or ECONAMI 21-pin boards to 9-pin JST or NMRA 8-pin plug systems.
The description on the manual that came with the Radio Control adapter board kit I have states as follows: “The Soundtraxx Sierra Radio Control Adapter Board is used to translate the signals between a radio control system and the Sierra Onboard Sound Module.
Athearn SoundTraxx Manuals. Tsunami 1/RTR Sound Support Tsunami 2/Econami Support. Click the manual images below and the desired manual will display over this page in an external frame.
Decoder and Soundtraxx Sierra Sound. Installation into a. Bachmann Fn3 (G) 4-4-0. with luck, this also applies to the. Bachmann Fn3 (G) 2-6-0. This installation note assumes you have read the section on Wiring Specific Locomotives. It also assumes you have read the section on Sound.

I purchased a Soundtraxx Sierra sound system to install in an Aristo C-16 (about $150 from Tony’s Train Xchange). The Sierra system is available with a ROM with recorded C-16 sounds. There are also ROMs for several other popular narrow gauge prototypes. As of June 2000, the Sierra is available with diesel sounds for Alco and EMD prime movers.

One of the great features that Soundtraxx carried over from the Tsunami to the Econami and Tsunami2 decoders is the 7-band equalizer. This is a neat feature that allows you to customize the sound output frequencies of the decoder to better match the capabilities of your speaker. Sound is generated by pushing air out from the speaker cone.
